So I got the Iberian Wedding as Castille by 1464, and with a bit of RNG, you could get it even sooner. Very stable and has far better units than the West until mid game. Aragon's first king and heir are both old, so you're likely to get the Wedding before 1500. It may also be formed by enforcing a claim through war or, in certain nations, through an event or decision. It's 1477 so I presume Castile won't have too many colonised provinces if any, so 100 % War score could be plausible (provided you can win). R5: I was playing my new Naples campaign, and after a huge war with the entire Maghreb and Barbary Coast, I was suddenly able to claim Castilian throne. It looks to me like your (our) best hope for the Iberian Wedding is a Aragon regency, since you can not depend on getting opposite. If you're playing as aragon, castile will become a lesser partner in a union over you. France is in debt fighting a dumb war in HRE, and Austria says Castile is too far. As Castille the main objective is to dominate the Iberian. Navarra, the single-province nation to the north of Castile, is a prime candidate for vassalization. Spain can be formed mainly by playing as Castile or Aragon.
